App Inventor in Taiwan
The CAVE Education Group promotes robotics education in Taiwan. Their website http://www.appinventor.tw/ hosts many App Inventor lessons, particularly ones involving the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® components. In May 2012, the CAVE Education Groupreleased a book in Mandarin Chinese so that App Inventor users around the world would be able to follow tutorials and program apps for themselves.
The book's name is translated to Android App So Easy – App Inventor and a brief overview is available here. (Google Chrome will automatically ask you if you would like to translate webpages, so open the URL in Chrome if you’d like to see an English version.) CAVE Education has also hosted more than thirty App Inventor workshops nationwide since 2011 for students in elementary through high school.
Members of the CAVE Education team have written for various magazines, such as this article in Robocon Magazine. Also, their paper "Combination Curriculum of Robotics and Mobile Phone in Primary Education Level with Graphical Programming Environment" has been submitted to the International Symposium on Robotics Conference 2012. Their new book on App Inventor with Robots covers "not only the Lego robots, [but] also...how to control Arduino robots with App Inventor! We believe this is the first book to cover App Inventor and robot control issues." CAVE Education has extensive archives on using App Inventor for programming robots on their website.
